for uHadi and Voice
Transcribed from the performance of Mrs Nofinishi Dywili by Bokani Dyer
Ingxembula means ‘the ugly one’ and this song is about uNomadambe, a female ancestor figure with a very masculine appearance. The song warns that ‘amankazana ngamahule’ meaning there are unmarried promiscuous women who are sexually liberated. Nomadambe is also regarded as one of those women.
