Lindiwe Maxolo is a leading South African Jazz vocalist. She was born in Pietermaritzburg and Raised in Boipatong. After achieving a Cum-Laude in her Jazz Honours Degree from the University of Cape Town she performed in India, Portugal, Greece, New York, France and New Orleans.
She has worked with some of the top South African musicians including Sibongile Khumalo, Concord Nkabinde, McCoy Mrubata, Gloria Bosman, Feya Faku, and Andile Yenana. In 2006 she was invited to perform as part of the New Orleans – South African Connection, a cultural exchange dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Since the release of her debut CD, Lindiwe Maxolo has become one of South Africa’s prominent Jazz voices. She is currently a Music Educator at Thaba-Jabula Secondary School in Soweto and employed part-time by the Jazz Department at the University of the Witwatersrand to tutor vocal jazz.
